When hosting your website with us, we offer three main options for how your domain and DNS are managed. Each has its own advantages depending on how much control you’d like to retain and how hands-on you’d like to be with the technical side of things.

1. Full Domain Management

What it means:

We fully manage your domain, this includes domain registration, renewals, DNS settings, and everything else related to your domain name. The domain is technically owned by us while you’re a client, but don’t worry: as per our terms and conditions, you can request a domain transfer at any time, whether you’re moving to a new provider or simply want to take over the registration.

Best for:

Clients who want everything managed in one place and don’t want to deal with domain providers or technical admin.

Pros:

•Hassle-free domain setup and renewals

•One point of contact for all support

•Included in our managed service

•Automatic DNS configuration for performance and security

Cons:

•Domain technically held by us (but fully transferrable at any time upon request)

•Less immediate control if you want to make changes yourself

2. DNS Management Only (Recommended)

What it means:

You keep ownership of your domain with your existing domain registrar, but we ask you to point the domain’s nameservers to us. This allows us to manage DNS via our Cloudflare-powered system, which helps ensure performance, uptime, and security.

Best for:

Clients who want to retain ownership of their domain while enjoying expert DNS setup, Cloudflare protection, and simple support from one place.

Pros:

•You retain full ownership of your domain

•Faster and more secure site via Cloudflare

•All DNS updates managed for you by our team

•Simplified support – one point of contact

Cons:

•DNS changes must be requested through us

•Slightly less control if you’re technically hands-on

3. Access Only (DIY DNS Option)

What it means:

You manage everything to do with your domain and DNS. We simply provide you with the list of DNS records (A records, CNAMEs, MX, etc.) you need to connect the site to your domain.

Best for:

Technically confident clients or developers who prefer full control and already have experience managing DNS.

Pros:

•Full independence and control over domain and DNS

•No reliance on our support to make changes

Cons:

•No Cloudflare performance or security benefits

•We cannot resolve DNS-related issues as quickly

•Increased risk of downtime or errors due to misconfigurations

Our Recommendation

For most clients, we recommend DNS Management Only. It offers the best of both worlds:

•You own and control your domain

•We manage the technical DNS setup

•Your website benefits from fast, secure infrastructure

•You only need to contact us for changes rather than juggling different providers

This option is ideal if you want peace of mind, better performance, and a single point of contact.
