How to Add Your Outlook Email to the iOS Mail App

If you’d prefer to use the built-in Mail app on your iPhone or iPad instead of the Outlook app, you can easily set it up to access your Outlook (Microsoft 365) email account.

✅ What You’ll Need

  • Your Outlook email address (e.g. [email protected])

  • Your Microsoft account password

  • Your iPhone or iPad is running the latest iOS version

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open Settings

Tap on the Settings app on your iOS device.

2. Scroll Down and Tap

Mail

Then tap Accounts > Add Account

3. Select

Microsoft Exchange

From the list of options, choose Microsoft Exchange.

4. Enter Your Details

  • Email: Enter your full Outlook email address

  • Description: Something like “Work Email” or “Outlook”

Tap Next.

5. Sign In to Microsoft

When prompted, tap Sign In to open the Microsoft login page.

Enter your email password and complete any multi-factor authentication if required.

6. Choose What to Sync

You’ll now be asked what you’d like to sync with your device:

  • Mail

  • Contacts

  • Calendars

  • Reminders

  • Notes

Toggle the options as needed and tap Save.

All Set!

Your Outlook email is now connected to your iOS Mail app. You can open the Mail app to start sending and receiving emails.

❓Troubleshooting Tips

  • If you see an error, double-check your email and password.

  • Ensure your Microsoft account is active and not locked.

  • If multi-factor authentication is enabled, make sure to complete it during sign-in.
